Experienced racing paddlers are asked to come to the reception group and introduce yourself to the coach, he will then advise you on what group to go out with.

Richmond Canoe Club would like to extend a particularly warm welcome to overseas paddlers. If you're visiting the UK for any length of time and will be based in the London area, get in touch or drop by. We'll try to help you make your stay in Britain a memorable one.
Beginners' ‘Reception’ courses
Richmond Canoe Club is active in Racing Canoeing – a 52 week a year sport. We go to races on rivers, canals, regatta courses, and, go on a variety of long distance day trips. Paddling at Richmond takes the form of participation in training groups (all year round) and the Club 10k race (Wednesday evenings April to September).
Racing Canoeing is enjoyable, outdoor, athletic. New paddlers (equally men and women, equally all ages) do not have to be especially outdoor or athletic to begin with. Emotional commitment to paddling, and to the Club, conquers all.
We tend to be swamped, when the weather is warm, by new people coming to the Club. On Saturdays we run three groups, and they are all pretty full.
Please come and talk to us on a Saturday morning between 12 and 1pm to talk to the coaches, see what's going on and possibly go out with a group at 1:30pm There is no better way of getting a feel for what the Club and the sport are about.
We will also be able to work out when it would be possible for you to go on the water – say, in a week, in a month, or, in the Autumn.
