 TRAINING

Training Program - Winter 2006
  • Saturday - Club Groups from 9am

  • Sunday - Senior K2s at 9am. Senior Session at 10am.

Evening gym sessions with Trevor Wetherall at St Mary's for members by prior arrangement only. (Joining fee payable to St Mary’s in advance). Evening and morning paddling sessions in smaller groups. Can be arranged through Trevor Wetherall or Henry Hendron. Contact Trevor and Henry at the club on weekends.

Paddlers are encouraged to attend all marathon races to improve their endurance and boat skills. Races include the Wey Hare & Hounds Series, Waterside, Thameside and some Hasler Races. Paddlers should try singles one weekend (eg Hare & Hounds) followed by doubles the next (eg Waterside). This will help with boat skills/portage practice and give a better understanding of crew paddling and compatibility. Crews preparing for DW should do the above with more emphasis on doubles work.

Video sessions will be available during club coaching sessions or on Sundays by arrangement with your coaches.

Bespoke training can be arranged for individuals or groups to help prepare for specific races or to further improve your technique.

A programme of Master classes will be arranged for each coaching group.
